AI Search Visibility

Built so Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok can find you.

People now ask an assistant for a plumber, a realtor or an agency before they open Google. I build your site so each of them can find it, read it and say your name. Same founder on the account, same <2 second pages.

Four assistants, one foundation

What each one actually reads, and what I do about it.

Each company runs its own crawlers with its own rules. Here is what they publish, quoted from their own documentation, and the setting I use on your site.

Claude

Anthropic

Claude-SearchBot · Claude-User · ClaudeBot

Anthropic runs three crawlers with three jobs. Claude-SearchBot indexes pages for Claude’s search results, Claude-User fetches a page when someone asks Claude a question that needs it, and ClaudeBot collects content that may be used for model training. Each obeys its own robots.txt rule.

How I build for it. Search and user fetches stay open, so Claude can find and read the page when a customer asks. Training is your call, and we set it the way you want.

ChatGPT

OpenAI

OAI-SearchBot · ChatGPT-User · GPTBot

OpenAI says sites that opt out of OAI-SearchBot “will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers.” GPTBot is the separate training crawler. ChatGPT-User is a visit a person triggers, and OpenAI notes robots.txt rules may not apply to it.

How I build for it. OAI-SearchBot is allowed, because it is the one that decides whether you can be named in ChatGPT’s answers. Blocking GPTBot does not remove you from search, so the two are set separately.

Gemini

Google

Googlebot · Google-Extended

Google’s documentation says the requirement for AI Overviews and AI Mode is to be indexed and eligible to appear in Search with a snippet, and that there are “no additional requirements.” It also says you don’t need new machine-readable files, AI text files or markup. Google-Extended is the control for AI training and grounding in some of Google’s other systems.

How I build for it. This is plain, hard SEO: a fast page that Google indexes, a complete Google Business Profile, clear content and real reviews. Nothing exotic is needed, so nothing exotic gets sold.

Grok

xAI

No official crawler documentation

I looked for xAI’s own documentation on a Grok crawler and robots.txt behavior and did not find any. Third-party bot directories list several names and disagree, and one independent test reports Grok traffic using ordinary browser identifiers. I won’t tell you a robots.txt line controls it.

How I build for it. The same fundamentals as above: a fast, crawlable, clearly written site and a presence people actually link to and talk about. When xAI publishes how its crawler works, this row gets updated.

The llms.txt tool

Check your site. Then see ours.

An llms.txt file is a plain-text summary of a site, written for AI assistants. I should be straight with you about it: Google says you don’t need one to appear in its AI features, and none of the vendor pages I read for this page list it as a requirement. I ship one on every site anyway, because it costs nothing and hands an assistant a clean account of who you are. Treat it as a courtesy, not a ranking lever.

AI Readiness Checker

Type your address. It checks for an llms.txt file, whether your robots.txt blocks the major AI crawlers, and whether your sitemap is listed. It runs in your browser and stores nothing.

Same tool on its own page: AI Readiness Checker. Want to see a finished file? Here is ours.

What you get

The work, on every site we build.

None of this is a trick. It is the foundation that search engines and assistants both read, done carefully and kept current after launch.

  • Crawler settings set on purpose

Search crawlers allowed, training crawlers decided with you, written down in your robots.txt.

  • An llms.txt file and a sitemap

A clean summary for assistants and a complete map for search engines.

  • Structured data that matches the page

Business, services and FAQ markup that says only what the page says.

  • Pages that answer the questions customers ask

Plain, specific copy, because an assistant can only repeat what your site makes clear.

  • Google Business Profile, listings and reviews

The local signals that Google, and the assistants that lean on it, already trust.

Questions

AI search visibility, answered.

What is AI search visibility?

It is whether your business gets named when someone asks Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Google’s AI features for a business like yours. Those answers draw on the open web, so the work is making your site fast, clear, crawlable and well supported by reviews and listings.

What is an llms.txt file, and do I need one?

It is a plain-text guide to your site written for AI assistants, proposed at llmstxt.org. The honest picture: Google says you do not need one to appear in its AI features, and none of the vendor documentation I read for this page lists it as a requirement. Every site we build ships with one anyway because it costs nothing and gives an assistant a clean summary of who you are, what you do and where. It is a courtesy, not a ranking lever.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok will recommend me?

No. No one controls what those systems say, and anyone promising a result is guessing. What I can do is remove every obstacle on your side and show you the movement in Google Analytics and Search Console.

Should I block AI crawlers?

That is a business decision, and the crawlers do different jobs. Blocking a search crawler such as OAI-SearchBot keeps you out of ChatGPT’s search answers. Blocking a training crawler such as GPTBot or ClaudeBot does not. We set each one on purpose with you, not by default.

How do I check whether AI tools can read my site?

Run your address through the AI Readiness Checker. It looks for an llms.txt file, whether your robots.txt blocks the major AI crawlers, and whether your sitemap is listed. Or send it to me and I will look at it with you.

Is this different from SEO?

It sits on top of it. The work that gets you found in Google, which is speed, structure, local signals and reviews, is the same work AI answers lean on. We do it as one job.
